It's Saturday!!!
Before we go any further, I think it's important to take a post to dedicate solely to our lovely little friend THE COLOR WHEEL. What's the color wheel you ask? (And i hope you're asking, or else I'm just writing for myself and grandma dorothy). It's the handy little tool you learned about in 1st grade, that's going to help you stay chic! The colorwheel, pictured below, is comprised of all the colors you could imagine. Their position on the wheel can determine a fashion woe or fashion WIN.

Basic Color Wheel
Let's start with the basics, and fellas, this goes for you too!

Primary Colors: These are pretty much the foundation of every other color imagininable. They include Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Secondary Colors: These are created when you mix the primary colors together. Remember when jimmy tried to steal some of your red paint but had yellow paint on his brush? You got orange. And probably detention for slapping jimmy, but thats besides the point! These colors are Orange, Green, and Blue.

Tertiary Colors: Found when you mix secondary colors.

Now, lets start complimenting!
Complimentary colors are any colors that are DIRECTLY across from each other on the colorwheel. So blue & orange, and red & green for example, are great combinations that will create a fresh and young look when paired together. Complimentary colors increase the intensity of each other, making for an outfit that really pops! Don't shy away from different shades of each color either, they'll still compliment! (ie: crimson and seafoam green).

Another great combination include colors that are at 90 degree angles with each other (ie: green and orange).

If you're going for a more neutral/less bold look, try different shades and hues of the same color.

Happy wheeling! Below are a few examples from my own wardrobe.
