Good Morning my little divas!

So the time has come to go shopping for swimsuits! Or at least, that's what i tell myself to feel less guilty for the money i'm spending ;). Spring break is coming up, and summer is quickly approaching so here's a few tips from Glamour Mag and Cosmopolitan to help you choose the best swimsuit for your body type!

xo

Pear shape bathing suit

To slim your hips…

Don’t go wild on the bottom.
The less going on down there, the better! Go for simple colors, stay away from ruffles or embellishments that would accent your bottoms!
Bring the focus up top
By wearing a top in a lighter color, or with fun details or a pretty pattern.
Go for a fairly high-cut bottom
to create the illusion of longer, leaner legs.

Small bust bathing suit

If you want to boost a small bust…

Don’t rule out an underwire.
“It gives shape to small busts,” says Suze Yalof Schwartz. (Glamour)
Go for some fun stuff!
Ruffles, beading and pleating attract attention up top. They add bulk and visual interest.
Don’t do bandeau.
“They’ll flatten you out even more,” says Suze Yalof Schwartz. This can be made an exception if you have broad shoulders!

Belly control bathing suit

If you want some belly control…

Don’t go for shine.
It highlights every lump and bump. Matte is much better.
Skip tankinis
unless you find one with an un-clingy top, that hangs a little looser
Show a little skin!
A high-cut leg or low-cut top draws eyes away from your middle.

Big Bust bathing suit

If you want to support a big bust…

Say no to triangle tops!
if you’re bigger than a D-cup—there's not

nearly enough support.
Don’t do high necklines
unless you want a uniboob. Didn’t think so.
Do know that underwire or a hidden bra
is a must if your top’s not a halter.

Plus size bathing suit

If you want to flatter your curves…

Don’t run from stripes.
Just be sure they’re vertical or angled across your body.
2 pieces aren't totally out.
Just avoid thin string ties, which can dig and create bulges.
Ty a wrap style/ ruching
if you have a thick middle—it brings in your waist!

Here's a few random tips for the finer details!

  • A folded bottom forgives love handles.
  • Briefs/boy shorts are a good option if you have some junk in the trunk since they offer full coverage!
  • If you have a boyish figure and desire visual curves , try a one piece with cutouts. The cutouts will give the illusion that you're curvier
  • Bows, ruching, ties, rings, and bold prints can make a straight figure look more curvaceous. Especially bottoms with embellishments, since they bring attention to the hips
  • For my curvier girls, try vertical lines or patterns on it. They create the illusion of a thinner torso, since they draw your eye down and in=
