Model: Alaudin, 22, CT

I wanted to wear this suit but make it more casual and appropriate for my lunch date , so I wore it with some boots and added the beanie and glasses. The colors just looked right together, the black/white gave me contrast and stopped the brown from being too overpowering which I love! The whole outfit is from H&M except for the shoes, they are from DSW, the tie-clip is from Nordstrom, and the watch is Michael Kors.

Can we say this look is to DIE FOR? We absolutely loveee the rust color contrasted with the black. The fit of the suit is to perfection. Casual yet chic- very european! This is a lunch date we wouldn't want to miss!

This post is perfect for all my naturalistas
- but my transitioning and relaxed girls can get into this too ;). Recently I've done a side swept updo and blew out my natural hair to get a straighter look. However, too straight was just too dull!

A quick and easy way to get long lasting volume without any heat... Rod set!!! On my first attempt, I two strand flat twisted my hair to the desired side and secured the hanging hair with three rods, one per twist.

When I pulled out my hair the next day, it resulted in a loose curl at the ends with a straighter look on the rest of the hair. But you know me... Volume volume volume!! So last night I chose to cut my twists in half forming two rows of three twists. I secured all the free ends this time using six rods and the results this morning were magicallll!! I have more curls all over giving a look that's still loose but more interesting than just the normal blow out.

For best results, apply a hair lotion or setting solution to the hair before twisting and securing rods in hair. Allow rods to set overnight or add heat for faster setting time. Stay beauty-full <3

So it's said that we go through a life change/cycle every 7 years. It's about my time, and boy is it a hell of a change lol. I came across this on The Thought Catalog, and it's a list of things only we can change about our lives.

Idk about anyone else but sometimes I feel like life is just happening to me. Like a subway train, and I'm just enjoying the breeze on the platform. But its important to never become passive in the way you live your life. Take a peek at some of the tips below

1. The amount of money you spend eating out/getting expensive coffees every week. If you are constantly berating yourself for losing so much money in wasteful food spending, no one can force you to turn away from the Starbucks and/or Chipotle except for you.
2. How early you decide to go into work, how long you stay there, and how much time out of your day you spend cruising on Facebook.
3. The amount of influence a manipulative ex has over your life. If you are even occasionally responding to the text messages or calls which you know are going nowhere, you alone are giving them ammunition.
4. How much you go out and drink. When you know that you don’t have the money (or the energy) to be going out and partying, there is no way that anyone can “force” you to do it. You just kind of want to go out yourself, at least a little bit.
5. How clean you decide to keep your living space, and how long you allow your desk area to become cluttered before you finally become disgusted with yourself and clean it out.
6. The new albums you give a listen to, and the genres of music you consider “yours.” The only way you’re going to branch out is if you give stuff a chance that you would normally dismiss without thought.
7. How much energy you put towards the lives and relationships of celebrities who literally do not give a single solitary shit about you or know who you are.
8. The degree to which your own religious beliefs are foisted on those around you. You don’t have to care if two people of the same sex are getting married, or if someone is getting an abortion — you choose to.
9. How much television you watch, especially if you’re constantly complaining that you watch too much television.
10. The level of temptation you face every time you open up your refrigerator/cabinets, depending on how much junk food you decide to keep in there.
11. How much of an a-hole you are about the kind of music other people like to listen to.
12. Whether or not you are the kind of person who leaves nasty, anonymous comments on the internet specifically to hurt other people’s feelings.
13. Whether or not you choose to engage in pointless, circular sociopolitical arguments while in said comments sections.
14. The degree to which you enable friends who are making repeated, negative, self-destructive decisions.
15. Whether or not you are going to be known as the kind of person who is punctual, and keeps their promises, and always tries their best to do what they say they are going to do.
16. Whether or not you keep secrets.
17. The people you decide to invite to important events. If you are left feeling like you have no real friends on your birthday because so many of them flake out/only show up to drink your booze (and yes, this happened to me once, and yes, it was the worst thing ever), it’s time to start inviting fewer/better people.
18. How much time you spend on Facebook/Instagram.
19. The kind of people you decide to keep on your Facebook, and how wrapped up you decide to get up in their daily activities/relationship statuses.
20. The amount of time you spend obsessing over your outfits in the mirror before you leave the door, and how many times you tell yourself that you look ugly/lumpy in everything you try on.
21. The amount of time you spend staring at your pores in a magnifying mirror. (My record is about an hour, but I have what can only be referred to as “geographically significant” pores.)
22. How much you spend on beauty magazines which only make you feel ugly and/or poor.
23. How much money you spend on things that you know, at the moment of purchase, you absolutely do not need and which are going to cause you to be in a really difficult position at the end of the month. Put the designer candles down — put them down.

Happy Happy Friday dolls!
If you've been keeping up with us on twitter (@DIYmondsandPearls), you would know that last night was Stylez Meetz Muzic here in NYC! We were able to hang out backstage with Founder/Designer Miss Nunez & Co-Founder Miss Figueroa as they prepped their fierce models for the fashion/music showcase. The show was filled with limitless local talent, featured MMG's own DJ AKA and had amazing food (I was absolutely SOLD!)

The Molly Collection took the show by storm, filled with vivacious colors and patterns; transforming your typical weekend outfit-into a force to be reckoned with. We loved every single piece the models rocked, our favorite being Mrs. Raw - a form fitting black and white patterned dress with deep purple sleeves, so chic! We absolutely admired Miss Nunez, pulling all the stops to make sure the show was up to her own standards; dedicated is an understatement! All pieces can be ordered at www.WeirdoInkDesigns.com. And the best part? Weirdo Ink designs custom pieces, so you can create your own fearless piece!

Take a peek at some shots below, and be sure to check back for an exclusive interview with the women behind Weirdo Ink!

I just really like scarves. And it's almost spring. Happy friday :-)

1. Add a corsage to spice up your scarf.
2. Use an infinity scarf as a shawl.
3. Fold your scarf in half, put the middle around your neck. Wrap the sides around your neck and back through the loop you made in front of your neck.
4. Add a chain to your smaller scarves with safety pins for a creative chic look.
5. Tie a loose knot and let your scarf fall like a large necklace.
6. Take a chunky scarf and wrap it around your shoulders. Tie a bow.
7. Wrap a belt around your scarf for a vest-like feel.
8. Tie two corners of your scarf around your neck. Take the remaining two corners and tie them around your waist for a halter-top effect.
9. Tie a knot towards the bottom of your scarf.
10. Check out this video to see how to braid a scarf.
11Wrap a scarf around your waist to create a belt.
12. What’s better than one scarf? Two!

Thankfully, I decided to take advantage of the long weekend (Happy belated President's Day!) and took an impromptu getaway! I had an absolute blast, ended up walking in a fashion show (random but so fun!) & even got a little nice weather! Take a peek at a few of my outfit choices below!

Tip: Ladies, if your shoulders are broad but your hips are slim, draw more attention to your lower half by throwing on a skater skirt/dress! It adds more dimension below your waist; giving the illusion of an hour glass figure.
